Finishing by Separating

The category of „Finishing by separating“ is about finishing methods which are accomplished with a complete or partial cut. The base is simply the material which is finished through a surface alteration. DIN 8580 divides the main group “separation” in different groups. Die-cutting and areal perforation are samples of cutting (processing by mechanical tools). Laser cutting and laser engraving are kinds of ablation (laser-beam machining).
