Structure embossing

Structure embossing can be done by debossing or relief embossing. The main characteristic is the structure of the surface of the binder’s die. It transforms the surface of the material you work on and it is hot foil embossing.
Technical background
Embossing tool is a binder’s die or an embossing cylinder. Specific parts of the engraving are higher or lower than the original engraving and so in connection with temperature and pressure foil and material get the structure of the binder’s die.
Effect
Due to the refraction of light at the surface structure produce different gloss-matt contrasts that can change depending on the viewing and illumination direction. With this type of finishing can produce brilliance or a velvety character. With the embossing structure not only visual but also tactile effects are produced.
Application possibilities
For the embossing coated and uncoated materials and painted or laminated substrates are suitable. Often these embossing variant is used with spot varnishing. Structure imprints can be found for example on business cards, invites, greeting cards, certificates, certificates or menu cards.
Limitations
When embossing structure should be avoided substrates with rough material surfaces, as these may reduce the effect of structure embossed or even prevent it. The existing structure may not be sufficiently formed, so that the substrate can take on the new structure. Embossed patterns must not be drafted too delicate.
